What disturbed me was the fact that the Slaughter family tried bringing it to the national news media attention. Sure, the news panned her as this innocent bystander, but the comments streaming along the bottoms said that the people knew otherwise. A good deal of people are pissed that the parents didn't take matters more seriously. And from what I understand... and this is hearsay... yes, the police are involved in the situation, but not for any death threat. Their were prank calls, but no evidence of death threats. They are involved because of the aligations of Jessie putting certain types of pictures of herself onto the net. I think this is going to be a case where the judge says, no more internet for you girl, not until you are older and more mature, to which I expect a tirade from both Jessie and her parents about how this isn't fair and how Jessie has no friends.

Oh, and in defence of the 'bullies,' Jessi isn't exactly a sweet little girl in all this. She's an attention seeker - she deliberatly made a huge show of herself online, acted like an idiot, and just tried desperatly to get people to pay attention to her. Well, it worked. Just remember that she was making death threats before she was recieving them.

Just beware the arms race - block too much, and the child tries to circumvent the blocks.

Which they will, given enough time.
